Useful to the general public as well as museum workers I am sharing so many of the ideas and pages with the other docents at my art museum. I recommended it on my FB.

It was incredibly shallow and offered no real advice on how to visit an art museum besides "maybe talk to a guard," "landscapes aren't just a view - look closer" - don't waste your time.

I am involved in a number of adult education events in my parish, including visits to museums and libraries. I found this book filled with witty insight that probes the possibilities of engaging a diverse group of people around a common experience--and coming away cheered and more enlightened than at the beginning. Thank you. Fun book. I wish some of my high school teachers had been familiar with this book.

This book is just plain shallow. It offers only the most basic most clichéd advice. Often the writer has completely conflicting advice in different parts of the book "take time and appreciate, sit down, VS. you to keep walking slowly and never stop".+: nice photos in the book-:very few, mostly empty slightly pretentious text

What a great book - really adds depth to visiting a museum. Really great suggestions for fully engaging with a museum - and while this isn't the point of the book, it has given me some ideas on how to engage my kids, now that they are teens - ideas we've tried out with great success. Some examples are how to approach shocking art and seeking out experiences that stimulate all the senses. Very glad I've got this one to read and reread.

I had expected far more depth about visiting an art museum rather than these brief comments. I didn't learn anything that I could apply to my own visits or the tours I give at an art museum
